Hi everyone!

I’m Christie and I’m from the metro-Detroit area. I’m married to my wonderful husband, Scott and we have an adorable puppy,  Stella.

Recently we purchased our first home and have been busy cleaning, fixing, and eventually decorating it. I am obsessed with furnishing our home and getting it perfectly cozy for the three of us.

A close friend gave me some wise advice and told me that I should not buy anything for our home that we (I) don’t absolutely love and that we (I) can’t live without. Since my husband couldn’t care less (unless it happens to be pink) I have most of the pull when it comes to decorating the house… as long as I steer clear of the garage.

Since I took this advice literally it has taken a little longer to furnish our home. More then that, because our budget is a little smaller these days my husband and I both have convinced ourselves that we can make much of what we would go buy (this explains our obsessive canning hobby). Sometimes this is true, mostly, very wrong.

I created this blog to document all the beauty I have stumbled across while creating a beautiful life for my little family.
